About the Training

Research and training materials are based on national best practices and infused with local context. Trainers have extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in content areas, as well as community and supervisory experience.

Training Details

  • 4 days, 9:00am – 4:30pm each day
  • Application required
  • Brief interview for qualifying applicants
  • Certificate upon completion

Application Required. To be eligible, CHWs must attend ALL 4 DAYS of training. A member of our training team will confirm receipt of your application and qualifying candidates will be invited to a brief interview.

Student & Parent CHW Training

Core Competencies — 4-Day Training

Recruiting high school students and parents of Buffalo Public School children to train as Community Health Workers and serve throughout the school year.

Who Can Apply

  • Students entering grades 9-12 at Buffalo Public Schools
  • Parents/caregivers of PK-12 BPS students
  • Those with lived experience navigating BPS systems
  • People with a desire to help others and advocate for community health
